Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
The crew from Bars From Last Night has traveled North to California’s capital, Sacramento. So far we have experienced Jorts at Kohls, a delicious meal atJack’s Urban Eats and a trip to BevMo to taste some of Northern California’s best IPA’s. As more and more kids are graduating and venturing into the summer months, we are here to present our newest mix of New Music for the Weekend. Party hard, enjoy the extra night of sleep and enjoy this Memorial Day Weekend Playlist.
Don’t want to spoil any of the plot for you guys on the must see sequel of the year… (sorry kung fu panda 2) If you have seen the first hangover then consider yourself spoiled. Don’t get me wrong the movie is quite funny, but so is the first one was. It had your classic Alan man crush-moments with Phil and Stu, the infamous stripper situations and many more similar situations from the first one. You know a night out with the guys would not have been complete without Leslie Chow thrown into the mix. Some bumps, racial slurs and little penis’ make him the perfect fit once again for the movie. My favorite similarity from the first movie was Justin Bartha AKA Doug (Don’t worry we didn’t know his real name either) got his whopping 12 minutes of screen time.
Overall I thought The Hangover 2 was a pretty good time. I went in expecting something pretty similar to the original and that is exactly what was put up. I guess the producers said to themselves “fuck it if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” and moved Vegas to Thailand (Thigh Land). In closing don’t go in to The Hangover 2 expecting the greatest movie of all time but a funny flick and I think you will be pleased.
Check out the sample of Stu’s song from The Hangover 2, that’s right folks there is a song in this one too.
One of my favorite places to eat in Orange County is Bear Flag Fish Company located on 407 31st St, Newport Beach, CA. This is the Local Eats favorite restaurant and one of my favorite gems in Newport when it comes to food. If you are looking for fresh fish, great fish tacos or just a Local Restaurant, Bear Flag is the place for you.
Any type of fish available that day, you are given the option to have them grill it and put it in a taco for you. One of the best parts about Bear Flag is that none of their tacos are deep fried. Instead they are grilled to perfection and served fairly quickly.
You may get there and realize there are too many options to choose from, so one of my favorite fish tacos from Bear Flag include their Lobster Tacos, Poke Tacos, Shrimp Tacos and my all-time favorite, Swordfish Tacos. All of these tacos are equally priced at $3.40 per taco.
Other notable mentions include their Bear Flag Burrito which is priced fairly at $8.95. But the overall most raved about item on the menu is their famous Poke Salad. Although I have not personally had it, all of my buddies have had it and say it does not disappoint.
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Newport, but there are two things that disappoint me. #1 is their limited seating. You most likely will eat outside unless you are lucky enough to find a seat inside. #2 is a complaint which comes especially from us, because we are barsfromlastnight.com Bear Flag is a dry restaurant. There is no beer or wine selections within the restaurant.
If you are fine with either of those reasons, then I highly recommend Bear Flag Fish Company for you.
